§ Background of Augustan Age:
The eighteenth century in
English literature has been called the “Augustan Age”, the neo-calssical age,
and the age of Reason.
The term the Augustan age come from the
self conscious imitation of the original Augustan writer Virgil and Herace, by
many of the writers of the period. This is partly a result of the politic al of
naming inherent in literary history. Then other it is the name of Alexander
pope which is associated with the Augustan age.
§ Political background in the
Neo-Classical Age:
Historicists of Romantic
literature however in distinction from most Renaissance historicists, often
name their critical procedures political reading of a literary text reading in
which they stress quasifreudian.
The primary aim of a
political reader of a literary text is to undo these ideological disguises and
suppression in order to uncover its subtext of historical and political
conflict and oppression which are the text’s true, although covert or
unmentioned subject matter.
The interpretive procedures of this critical mode have
interacted with the earlier concern of feminist critics, who stressed the role
of male power structures in forming dominant ideological and culture
constructs. The thesis is that in order not only to some degree allow but also
actively fosters “subversive” elements and force. The view of the general
triumph of containment over the force of subversion has been criticized as
“pessimistic” and “quietists” by the group of new histotiricists known as
“cultural materialists’” who insets on the capacity of subversive ideas and
practices.
The most important figure in terms of lasting literary
influence during this period, however was undoubtedly. The English novel was a
product of several differing literary tradition. The true pioneers of the women
writers pursuing their craft in opposition to the classical refined precepts of
the writers defining the Augustan Age. Neoclassical theorists, by contrast saw
man as an imperfect being inherently sinful, whose potation was limited.
The idea of political parties first took from in Britain
and the conservations claims to be the oddest political party in the world.
Political parties began to from during the English evil wars of the 1640s and
1650s. First there were royalist and parliamentarians; the Tories and Whigs.
§ Three major political parties in the
British system of political:
1) The Labor party –the contreleft
party.
2) The conservative party –the centre
right party.
3) The Liberal Democrat party – the
centrist libertarian party.
Each
political party choose its leader in a different. In addition to these main
parties, there are some much smaller UK parties and some parties which operate
specifically in Scotland or northern Ireland. Every leader member involve in parliament
of the party and all the individual members that party. Political party are an
all important feature of the British political system because: The three main
political party in the UK have existed for a century or more and have ,a strong
and stable brand image.
It is
virtually impossible for someone to be eleated to the house of commons without
being a member of an established political party.
All political parties strongly ‘whif
their selected members which man that on the vast majority of issues members of
parliament of the same party vote as a ‘block’
Having said this intuenece of the
three main political parties is not as dominant as it was in the 1940
The three parties have small
membership than. They did since voters are much as less inclince to join a
political party.
The three parties secure a lower
overall percentage of the total vote since smaller parties between them now take
a growing share of the vote.
The ideological differences between
the parties are less than they were with the parties adopting more pragmatic
positions on membership.
In the British political system there
is a broad consensus between the major parties on
The rule of law
The free market economy
The National Health Service
Uk membership of European.
§ The main different between the
political parties concern:
How to take poverty and inequality.
The levels and forms of taxation.
The extent of state intervention in
the economy.
The balance between collective right
and individual right.
All Government Ministers have to be a member of the either
the house of comers or the house of lords and every government department with
have at least one minister in the in either house as necessary. In political
parties have on prime minister, who lead the party, and take final decision now
we see that how prime minister work in their party.
§ The prime minister:
Constitutionally
the head of state is the monarch who is a hereditary member of the Royal
family. In theory the prime minister simply choses the minister who run
government department and chairs the cabinet the collection of the most senior
of these minister.
§ Government Departments:
The
most important political department are called:
The Treasury:
This department is management
of the economy part. In most country this would be called the minister of
finance.
The Home Office:
This department take responsibility
of criminal matter policing, and immigration. In most countries, this would be
called the minister of the Interior.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office:
It is responsibility for all
our international relationship, especially our membership of the European
union.
Although
all minister are appointed by the prime minister an report to him, ultimately.
All minister are accountable to parliament.
§ Conclusion:
We see
that in the Neo-classical age, on political background that in early year also
many political parties who want to lead country. Every party have one main
leader who have every power of parties. Many narrative common at this time did
not fit into a literary era which defined itself as neoclassical.
